seedCompany: Thompson and Morgan

One thread per NATIONAL supplier and a poll is incorporated. You may also post good and bad points but no rants please. Threads are for feedback and not for adverts.

Work in Progress - please limit your posts for the moment to comments on the Poll structure so that I can finalise a template for all supplier. I am looking for a consistent set of poll options for seed companies, chicken suppliers, etc

T & M sent me a catalogue with a £5 coupon and two free seeds offer - I phoned up and ordered 5 packets of seeds - cost £1.99 p & p. + 37p (cost over the £5) and they arrived within 7 days. Total price of the seeds was over £10.75p - I think this was a really good offer.

I buy seeds when there`s an offer but am becoming concerned about some of the quality. However complaints about dodgy pots or onion sets etc are dealt with an aclarity that is so good that you sometimes wonder if it`s practice makes perfect, certainly once the person on the phone knew what I was complaining about before I told her!

I was getting a bit concerned about my spud order, so rang them yesterday.

They are awaiting the final delivery of Charlotte and Sante seed spuds from Scotland, and hopefully they will then send them on to me.

They did mention that the heat treated onions won't be ready til mid March - hope they don't hold on to my seed spuds that long to send it in one big order - I want to get chitting

I think I ordered from them last year and I was gritting my teeth that they would turn up about this time last year.

This year I ordered from Marshalls and they arrived in December. Just put them in the garage till I was ready to start chitting.

This year I split my order between them and Tuckers and I was mighty impressed by both. Their website is welcoming, helpful and easy to navigate/order. Their email confirmation is always prompt too.

I typed my card number in wrongly and got a reassuring letter to contact them, the lady on the phone was very friendly. She even wanted me to email some of my pictures of my allotment to her for their website. She seemed genuinely interested in gardening and was very knowledgeable about seeds appropriate for the NE of England.

I am still waiting for an apple tree (due end of Feb) but the rest of my seeds arrived within 5 days. :D :D :D

Tuckers were also very helpful on the phone too. :D :D

Potatoes arrived today, along with shallots and one lot of onions. The offspring opened the box as it had "Live Product" tape all over it, she thought one of you lot had sent me a chicken or two

I have done this before but feel a bit guilty about it as I would not buy many seeds from them ... feel they are far too expensive in comparrison to others who I would whole heartedly recommend!

Just had a new catalogue through with a £5 "no strings" voucher. Lovely I thought, 'til I noticed the P&P is up to £4.45

There will have to be some brilliant deals on offer before I use them again - which is a shame as I think their choice is very good.
